[Jan] is one of these pizza perfectionists, and his wood-fired oven is an interesting one because it eschews the traditional dome for a cylinder. We see his early attempts at a former which distorted under the weight of clay, and we hear about how the clay required reinforcement with chicken wire and straw. Finally, we see the structure being dried out, before an impressive display when firing for the first time. The oven receives a coat of Rockwool insulation but [Jan] has a way to go to learn the oven’s characteristics. Still, this is an oven that will last to refine the perfect morsel given a bit of time.

This wood-fired oven, made out of fibreglass, has a sleek, contemporary look that will be the talking point of any alfresco get-together. The Delivita has Tardis-like dimensions, meaning it’s roomy enough to cook 12-inch pizzas without taking over in a smaller garden space. The traditional clay base means that it doesn’t take much wood to get up and running, retaining the cooking heat efficiently so you can just concentrate on your pizza without fussing with the fuel. There was a wonderfully wood-fired flavour to the bases, which can be rotated easily inside the 50cm oven so you can adjust whether you want them crispy or doughy. You’ll be up to temperature in just half an hour, and after a couple of hours it will be cool enough to touch the dome, which comes in black, olive green, vintage blue and hale grey.

It will place 185,00 seat cushions filled with premium products on each seat at the AFL Grand Final on 29 September and NRL Grand Final on 30 September.
