Whether it’s satisfying a pub crawler’s late-night munchies or attracting the next generation of gourmet trend-obsessed foodie, Canadian restaurants are finding an ever-growing demand for an Italian classic — pizza.

When I was at Camp Pendleton, one of the Marine Corps bases, researchers from the hearing center were doing a study on the effect of moderate hearing loss on survivability (as in, did you emerge alive?) and lethality (how effective you were at hitting your targets). The researchers were running around in a paintball field and discovered there was a 50 percent drop in lethality/survivability. 

That means that in order to ram a 10-seat row into a 777 cabin each seat has to significantly shrink in width. The result is painful. For example, American Airlines has 10-abreast coach seating in its 777s, with seat cushions only 16.2 inches wide. British Airways still flies its 777s with nine-abreast seats, with seat cushions of the original width of 17.5 inches.
